Indigo at Piano Farm
Treat yourself to a one day creative retreat at Piano Farm, a small regenerative farm nestled amongst rolling hills of coastal Sonoma County in a sleepy little town called Bloomfield.
Our day will begin learning how to build a henna based indigo vat with Monica Medeiros of Bricolage Press, a natural dye educator and experimenter. With Monica we will explore different methods of creating pattern and depth with various resist techniques.
A delicious farm to table lunch served under the shade of a Catalpa tree will be prepared by our host and former SF restauranteur, Veva Edelson of Firefly. Paired with our lunch will be a cider that was grown, fermented, and bottled at the farm.
After lunch we will learn how to dye in the vats we created together, working to dye a unique set of 100 % organic cotton napkins and raw silk table runner for your table at home.
All materials and lunch are included.
